The University of Warwick Golf Club offers fantastic golfing opportunities for golfers of all levels, as well as some of the best social events on campus!
For competitive golfers, we have a squad of 20 players based at Coventry Golf Club, competing in regular BUCS matches against other universities.Our Social Golf programme is perfect for the more casual golfers. Social members will also join Coventry Golf Club and will be able to play with other students of similar abilities.

What we offer
Warwick Active Golf Masterclass
This is the perfect way to get involved with golf at Warwick if you've never played before or have limited experience! Warwick Active run a golf masterclass with various sessions throughout the year at The Warwickshire Golf and Country Club. The sessions cost £70, starting at 10:00 and finishing at 15:00, and gives players the opportunity to hit some balls on the driving range and short game area, as well as test their game around the par 3 course!

What standard do I need to be?
In order to play at Coventry Golf Club as part of the Social Golf setup, it is required that you are confident enough to make your way round a full length golf course.
If you are a beginner or have limited experience, we recommend you look into the Masterclasses run by Warwick Active instead. If this sounds like the best option for you, we would still love you to join us for our socials throughout the year!
Squad players typically have a handicap of 7 or better. However, dependent on the number of trialists, we would certainly recommend that you attend squad trials if you have a handicap of around 10 or lower.

What do I need to bring to Warwick?
Due to limited hiring facilities at Coventry Golf Club, it is highly recommended that you have your own set of clubs to use. If you are an international student and would have difficulty transporting clubs on a plane, one option would be to buy a second hand set of clubs online while you are here. Online prices are usually low, and you would be able to sell them when you leave.

How do we get to the golf courses?
Coventry Golf Club is located within 10 minutes of campus and Leamington Spa. Sometimes, a second or third year student will be able to drive in their car, but if this is not the case, taxis normally cost around £10-15 per journey.
Where can I practice?
Coventry Golf Club has fantastic practice facilities, including a short driving range (your own practice balls are required), nets, a large pitching area, and a putting green. You must be a member to use these practice facilities at Coventry.
There is also a floodlit driving range approximately 15 minutes from campus at the John Reay Golf Centre. This is where the squad practice on Monday evenings.

How much does it cost to join?
In order to join sports clubs at Warwick, you are required to pay several fees. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: https://www.warwicksu.com/sports/clubs/howtojoin/.
For our club, these are in addition to the membership fees at Coventry Golf Club.
The exact membership fees for the club are yet to be confirmed, but are likely to be as follows (each for a 9 month membership expiring at the end of June):
Social Golf: £100-130
Squad Golf: £200-220
